Gary Pounces on The Arts Factory!

Gary was adopted by the Arts Factory staff about a week ago. He's a spunky little black kitten that was rescued by the animal shelter here in Byron Bay. Now he puts smiles on backpackers faces as he plays and pounces on them. For a lot of us it was hard leaving our pets back home, even more difficult than leaving some friends and family. Our pets are our family and luckily for those of us who stay at the Arts Factory we have a few substitutes.
Often you see Winnie wandering the grounds with Craigu in tow. Winnie is a large cumbersome dog who has won the hearts of many of the guests. She spends lot of her time around reception checking out the new guests, sleeping and eating lasagna from the Arts Factory Cafe.
When you see Sammy and Simon together you'll make an obvious observation; pets looks like their owners. Sammy is an apparent surf bum with his long shaggy sun bleached Cocker Spaniel ears, matted coat and surfboard leash fixed to his collar. Too easy to love. He's always excited to see Simon as he starts to jump and dance whenever he catches glimpse or hears the voice of his owner.
So you can see that even when we are half way across the world we aren't without our furry friends. Gary is the newest member, it's exciting to have him around and he will be loved by many from around the globe. Welcome Gary!
